Since I’m changing the colors for my Christmas decorations, I’m trying my best to reuse and recycle as much of the old stuff as I can without having to buy everything new.

Instead of a regular Christmas Tree Topper I use a variety of branches and vines to create a decorative topper.  These are the colors my Christmas decor was last year.  So, I decided I would see if I could change the green to silver or black.

Yes, it takes time to do this but it also saves money.  I used the Ranger alcohol ink metallic mixers and a cotton swab and painted every green berry to silver.

It was ok but, since it already had a light colored berry the silver didn’t do anything for me.

I decided I would take a daubber and jet black Staz on ink and change the green berries to black.

Because of the shimmer on the green berries the black Staz On Ink takes on a little shimmer and looks like a black pearl.  I like this look a lot better than the silver.

I’m still working on the tree and some of the ornaments so stay tuned I’ll show you when I get it done.
