Thanks a Latte!
For Assistants Day this week my #1 Daughter is bringing in “Latte’s on Locations” as a way to say thank you to her employees.
She is also giving them a “to-go-cup” and we made tags to go with the cups.
I started out with just plain jane tags and then I added a little rhinestone and some Glossy Accents to dress it up a little.
I took Copics and colored the ribbon to match the color of the tags. Simple enough we are done.
I used the Imagine and the Imagine More Cards cartridge to get the “Thanks a latte” wording that is why it looks like it is printed and then it fuzzy cut the it
Foil, Plastic Wrap & Wax Paper
Finally, I finished up the holders for my foil, plastic wrap and wax paper.
I got these from Ikea and they are designed to either be mounted to a rail or you can screw them into a cabinet door.
I came up with putting magnets on them and hanging them on the side of my refrigerator.
Problem, it takes super strong magnets to do this and they cost twice as much as the holders.
The holders come with either a tab that slides and cuts the item or you can use the insert that has teeth and cut it that way.
The magnets I found at HL and although they are not strong enough to hold the holder on the fridge and pull the item and cut, they are strong enough to hold them in place and then I can pull them off and then pull off as much foil, plastic wrap or wax paper that I need. Sweeeet!
Things
This is what I see every morning when I walk out to water my Boston Ferns and pick-up the paper. I have a pot of Peach Drift Knock Out roses sitting near my front porch.
My #1 Daughter has asked me to help her make some tags for the women/men who work for her. I went out to the internet and pulled this picture. At one time I knew how to make a picture into an SVG file, but at last that brain cell is gone. I’ll have to try another day.
I really should play outside and get some sunshine, but I’ve been making pillows and practicing the keyboards.
Hopefully, I’ll get the pictures uploaded of what I’ve been working on this next week. Thanks for stopping by!
#1 Daughter’s Birthday Card
I received my PaperCraft magazine and saw this cute apron gift card holder. I wanted something different for #1 Daughter’s birthday card and decided to make it.
The bundled stack of fat quarters was my inspiration for colors. I found that fat quarter at M’s.
I was a little disappointed in the instructions on how to make this particular card holder but fortunately I figured it out on my own. The most difficult part was getting the little pleated skirt to fit correctly on the card holder.
Once I finally got it to stay glued down I started with the embellishments and now that I look at it I could have easily done a decorative punch border but the little added ribbon added another dimension.
The tag I found in my stash and just embossed her age in white. Man she is making me feel old.
Since I used pattern paper I reinforced the holder with black card stock which gave me a perfect place to write her a note.
I put some eyelets in and knotted ribbon on one side and pulled it through to look like the ties.
Although the card is a little difficult to make I would make it again because you can use the things in your stash. it doesn’t take a lot of any one thing. Hmmm, I may make a ruffle one using some ribbon, instead of pleating the paper. Check back and see how that turns out.
April Calendar
Here is the April Calendar. This time I thought I would add some fun stuff so I stamped fun and added it to the top.
A little Copic coloring and then I distressed a TH tag and there is a little Viva Glitter Liner on the blue Copic coloring.
April 12th was my #1 Daughter’s birthday so I circled that date using the Viva Glitter Liner and then I embossed the leaves with some white embossing powder.
Now on to the next project. I should have more time to create since I was “laid off” yesterday. God is good and I know he will guide me into where ever He is leading me next.
Organization – Love it!
I’m going to chase a little rabbit here…. this vine always delights me. I cut it back to the ground and it is almost to the top of the pole.
This is the biggest bloom it has ever produced. This is a Columbine vine.
I see it every time I drive into my garage.
Ok, on to organization. I have a front load washer/dryer and I guess I overloaded it today. It stopped and came up with an error message.
I keep all of the books to the various items we own in a plastic tub with pendaflex folders.
This is a little dark but I went straight to the tub and pulled out the manual and within 5 minutes I found out what I needed to do to get the machine up and running again.
Difference between a woman and a man, we will read directions! LOL!
Because I love power tools I keep them in a binder in the box.
I have tried a lot of things to keep the manuals and information on the various things organized but this is by far my favorite. Everything in one place.
Now, I notice there are some manuals in there that we don’t own the items anymore so that means I have another task I need to do….clean out the tub!
Pillow Case or Dress
For just $5.oo I picked up this piece which I think it is a table cloth not a pillow case.
It also had a nice little edge.
Picked up some leggings and a little jacket at Target. My plans here is to add some ribbon and ruffles to dress these up to wear with the pillow case dress.
I followed a YouTube video on how to do a pillow case dress and the next one I do I’ll do a little different (like the arm holes). But I think it came out pretty cute.
Now I need to get the ruffles and ribbon done.
Burlap – $.25
At Canton Trade days, a lady in one of the shops was selling the raveled parts left over from her burlap creations.
It was $.25 and I needed something to make a nest out of for my mantel.
I think it worked out just great. All I did was shape it.
I think I need to raise this up and put it on some books. My #2 Daughter has this on her mantel and it looks great with her decor.
The eggs I got at JoAnn’s and they can easily be found this time of year.
Ahhh! Spring!
First blooms off of my Knock Out roses.
This is the first year this vine has bloomed. It is growing on a topiary and I’m hoping this year it will cover all of the topiary.
The thing that is unique about this Boston Fern is I got it for $5.00 at Brookshires.
Beautifully full already!
This plant is amazing to me. It has thorny leaves and after this winters 25 degree weather it looked really bad.
I cut the old stuff off about 2 weeks ago and it went crazy.
Red Japanese Maple! This tree is such a slow grower. It is a great ornamental tree and it is front of another topiary that has a green back drop.
Underneath the Red Japanese Maple, I planted some lavendar.
Isn’t this a great picture! I love it when you accidentally get a good one of
